Share–A–Gift is an all-volunteer, secular annual holiday project that distributes children’s toys, books, games, puzzles, and bicycles for low-income families in the area of Colorado’s Boulder Valley School District.

We normally collect these donated gifts at sites around the City of Boulder and in areas of eastern Boulder County starting around Thanksgiving week.

This year, 2020, due to Covid-19,
our limited Toy Collections occurred
November 28 and December 5, 2020
(now past).

We are no longer able to accept
Toy Donations in 2020.
Thank you to all who donated in this difficult year.

While this year, 2020, NEW children’s toys (+ books, games, puzzles, stuffed animals) and bicycles can be accepted, we also accept monetary donations year-round in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.

Monetary donations are used to purchase NEW TOYS and supplies (such as flyers, heat seal wrap, tape, signage paper, rope, etc.), and to offset any operating costs of our toy distribution.

Share-A-Gift does not pay volunteers or staff, and it does not pay rent on the physical location for the Toy Shop.

Donated bikes, scooters, and tricycles can be new or used, but must be in good condition and working-order. We inspect every bike, tricycle and scooter, but we have only limited resources to fix bikes or tricycles that need minor attention. ONLY minor repairs are possible: fixing flat tires, replacing broken cables, tightening bolts, and other small adjustments.

Please do not donate bikes or tricycles with:

  • broken frames
  • bent wheels
  • missing chains or wheels
  • missing seats or handle bars
  • missing or broken brakes

We encourage you to donate scrap bicycles to the metal collection at Resource Central or Eco-Cycle CHaRM (co-located at 6400 Arapahoe Road, Boulder).

Share–A–Gift also cannot accept bike tag-alongs (tow-bikes) – most of our client/parents do not own bicycles themselves to tow the tag-alongs. Please consider donating tag-alongs to Community Cycles.
